If SnipNotes closes unexpectedly during use, the app has crashed. To narrow down the cause of a crash, the system automatically creates a crash report. This article describes how you can send this crash report to me for diagnosis.

Overview

Preparation

Please check in the App Store whether you have installed the latest version of SnipNotes. The crash problem may have already been fixed by an update. Please also restart your iPhoneiPad, or Mac.

Submit Crash Report

In the App

When you start SnipNotes after a crash, the dialog for submitting a crash report should appear automatically. Click the "Send Always" or "Ask Next Time" button to send the crash report.

If no dialog appears, you may have turned off the transmission of crash reports in the past. You can reenable this function in the "Privacy" section of the settings dialog.

Outside the App

If SnipNotes does not start at all after a crash, you can submit the crash report as follows:

iOS

  1. Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap on "Privacy & Security" -> "Analytics & Improvements" -> "Analytics Data".
  3. Enter "SnipNotes-" (with a hyphen at the end) into the search field.
  4. Scroll down and tap on the last entry.
  5. Tap the share button in the top-right corner and send me the file by e-mail to [email protected]

macOS

  1. Open the "Console" app (Finder → "Applications" => "Utilities")
