Tags are a flexible way to organize your notes alongside categories. While a note can only belong to one category, it can have multiple tags. Think of categories as folders and tags as labels—a note lives in one folder but can have many labels attached to it.

Tags are useful when a note relates to multiple topics. For example:

Create a Tag

iOS

  1. Tap on "Categories" in the upper-left corner to reveal the category list
  2. Tap the plus icon at the top
  3. Select "New Tag"
  4. Enter a name for your tag
  5. Choose a color from the 12 available options
  6. Tap "Save" in the upper-right corner
