Whenever you select some text or an image on your device and hit "Copy", this data is saved inside your clipboard. By default, your clipboard on iOS and macOS can only store one time simultaneously. SnipNotes provides several features to work with your clipboard more effectively.
Overview
You can easily save the latest entry from your clipboard in SnipNotes as follows:
Open SnipNotes, tap on the plus icon, and select "Add Current Clipboard". This will save the contents of your clipboard as a new note.
In the menu bar, click on "File" and select "New Note from Clipboard" to save your current clipboard as a new note.
You can also configure a keyboard shortcut to capture your clipboard on macOS. Open preferences and click on the "Hotkey" tab. This shortcut even works while SnipNotes is running in the background.
SnipNotes can also remember a history of your clipboard data. This allows you to reuse a previous entry at a later point in time or on another device:
Open the settings menu in SnipNotes (cogwheel icon in the list of categories) and tap on "Clipboard Manager". Here you can choose to automatically save your clipboard whenever you open the app or in split-screen multitasking on iPad.
You can also select a category for storing new clipboard items in and choose to remove text formatting.
<aside> ⚠️ SnipNotes on iOS cannot capture your clipboard while the app is running in the background. This is, unfortunately, a limitation of iOS.
